Chapter 15: It’s Good To Be Smart.
The breathtaking woman in blue and orange robes smiled faintly, the glow from the endless weaving threads making her look even more surreal, almost like a goddess giving a lecture to mere mortals.
The threads around the stage slowly dimmed, folding neatly back into the multicolored orb in her hand like water being sucked into a drain, until finally, the room returned to normal brightness, and the buzzing awe that filled the students slowly turned into eager, buzzing curiosity.
She held up the glowing orb, now only the size of a grapefruit, and began pacing the stage with the easy, confident stride of someone who knew she could command the attention of thousands with a whisper.
"Understanding the Loom," she said, her voice carrying to the very edges of the room effortlessly,
"is only the first step. To weave, to manipulate these threads of existence, you must first learn to touch them. And to do that..." — she tapped the orb lightly — "you need to expand and strengthen your Mental Sea."
Instantly, murmurs broke out among the students, and even Ren found his analytical mind sharpening to full focus.
Mental Sea? He had already heard about this and was even close to evolving it back in the forge.
It sounded important. Very important.
The woman chuckled lightly, sensing the energy shift. "Your Mental Sea is the internal world of your mind and soul.
"It is where thoughts are born, where willpower is forged, and where your spirit touches the greater forces of the Loom.
"A shallow, impure sea means weak weaving. Your weaves would be clumsy, crude and short-lived. A vast, deep, pure and controlled Mental Sea, however..." — she smiled knowingly — "allows you to dance among the threads of the universe like a true master."
