Chapter 95: Need to Relax
Margaret turned out to be a good teacher; with her help, Cyril was slowly able to understand what was written in the spell book.
Illusion magic really involved too many techniques and patterns Cyril wasn't familiar with at present.
Margaret said that if he had learned this on his own, he would have had to wait until his fourth year at Ailanthus.
But even with her help, he didn't suddenly advance three years. She glossed over the parts he couldn't understand, just explaining the steps he needed to follow.
Like this, after some effort, Cyril was able to cast a simple illusion without truly understanding how he did that.
On the table of the principal's office appeared a flower, growing out of wood like it was ground.
The illusion was obviously fake, jittery, and mostly transparent. Perhaps even a toddler would be able to tell it's fake.
But with a bit more trial and error, Cyril should be able to perfect this further.
"Alright, let's stop here for today," Margaret said after seeing that it was becoming darker outside.
"As expected, you have spectacular talent in illusion magic. To be able to cast it at this stage is impressive." She nodded.
Cyril accepted the praise without saying anything in return. He wasn't really satisfied with these results.
