"Noah..." A voice came from behind, a voice all too familiar—Sickeningly sweet, coated in nothing but poison. My brows twitched as the smile on my face faded, I turned my head to glance at the shit that had approached me.
Beautiful Auburn hair that reached till her shoulders. Blue eyes that held nothing but fake warmth and gentleness. She was nothing but a deception.
"Elisabeth..." My jaw tightened as her name left my lips.
"We need to talk..." She mumbled out. Her hands were clasped in front of her uniform.
"Talk? For what?" I blurted out, controlling the sheer disgust that had almost coated my voice. I needed to control myself—My anger.
She flinched back, her grip tightening on her skirt. Lips pressed into a thin line. "About our engagement." She stated, her tone was laced with something that sounded like regret. "I wanted to talk about mendin—"
I raised my hands. "Stop right there." I moved over towards her, my shadow looming over her face, my eyes locked with hers. "The engagement was over the day I said it was over."
My fists clenched, my veins bulged, and my jaw tightened. "Don't you dare approach me with that filthy look of yours."
Everyone in the room gasped because of what I just did. I did not do something small like hitting a cat with a stone—I insulted a Duke's daughter, which would give me a bad image.
But if I cared for public opinion, I wouldn't have returned here.
