Chapter 38: Aeris Illya Thaloreon
The room was lit with two lanterns hanging from the ceiling, giving light to the various weapons that stood on the rack. The air inside the room was stale, with a slight smell of metal.
Sounds of coins clinking echoed inside the room. A man sat on a small wooden stool, his head leaning forward. His black eyes scanned the huge amount of gold and silver coins holed up in the open chest in front of him.
"This should be enough for a few months," He muttered to himself, his hands piling up a few coins. His smile widened as he looked at the lustre they produced.
He put the pile back in the chest and lifted the gray hair that fell on his forehead. Then he stood up from the stool, making his way to another corner of the room.
There stood a small cage—small enough to fit a few animals but big enough to at least hold two human-sized creatures.
The man crouched down, his posture lax. His eyes gleamed with mischief as he stared at the figure shackled inside the cage. He smirked, "You know, my fellow mates wanted to make... Let's say 'Love' with you."
"But you know, I stopped them from doing it," He licked his lips, "You should be grateful for that. For I, Rudi, protected you."
His smile deepened. "Your Highness..."
The figure inside the cage flinched. Golden eyes glared back at the man as if it wanted to kill him. The figure tried to lunge forward but was quickly pulled back by the shackles that held its hands.
"Oh my, don't be so impatient." The man pressed his fingers together, and a small flame illuminated the insides of the cage. Revealing the features of the figure that sat inside.
Pinkish white hair mixed with dirt—one side of the hair was tied in intricate patterns while the other lay opened. Her golden eyes shined in the light of the flame, holding pride and terror. Her frame is covered with a ragged and dirty cloth. Which, if cleaned, would've resembled the wear of a Royalty.
