Chapter 240 : Potentially Dangerous!
After returning to the apartment, Finn opened the door just in time to find that the two witches were nowhere to be seen. After placing the ingredients on the counter and sorting them separately, he checked each room briefly, but still found no sign of them.
"Strange. Where did they go?" he muttered, confused.
He knew their habits well—if Wanda or the Dark Witch went out, they would usually leave behind some sort of small note or magical trace. But this time, nothing.
Not even a post-it on the fridge.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Shaking his head, Finn decided not to dwell on it too much. "Forget it. I’d better make something for them, otherwise they’ll come back starving."
He rolled up his sleeves and got to work, not allowing himself to spiral into worry. He was familiar with their personalities. If they’d gone out for something urgent, there would be at least a magical residue in the apartment.
Since there was no trace, it was very likely that they would be returning soon.
As time passed, Finn sorted through all the ingredients with practiced hands. Once everything was prepped, he moved to the stove. Starting the fire and cooking came naturally to him now—practice really did make perfect.
Meanwhile, on a secluded, uninhabited coastline, the two witches were sparring with magic, testing the dark arts they had recently begun to harness.
They hadn’t wasted any time. The moment they felt stable enough in their spell formations, they had come here—away from prying eyes—to see just how much they had learned.
