Two days later.
The sun shone down upon the earth, casting its golden rays into every corner of the celestial domain. The warmth of daylight gradually stirred the once-cold atmosphere, chasing away the lingering chill of battle.
Inside a quiet room, Finn slowly opened his eyes. His gaze first met the familiar ceiling, then shifted to the sleeping witch beside him.
He sat up gradually, each movement deliberate, as if rediscovering the strength in his body. Drawing in a deep breath, he muttered, "Looks like that battle was more dangerous than I thought..."
His eyes wandered toward the window. The so-called lazy sunlight streamed through the glass, gently warming his still-recovering body.
Sensing his movement, the witch stirred. Her eyes fluttered open, soft and clear as they found his. "You’re awake. I’ll go get you some breakfast."
"No need right now, I’m not hungry yet."
Finn reached over and grabbed her hand firmly. "That battle turned out better than expected. I don’t regret bringing you along, honestly. If I hadn’t, things would’ve turned out a hell of a lot worse."
He looked at her face intently, as if engraving every detail.
"If you let me go next time, I can still help you, can’t I?" she asked, matching his serious gaze with her own.
"No," Finn replied flatly, "it’s different. That place was far too dangerous. Didn’t you see how badly I was hurt?"
