Chapter 128: The Fierce Battle Begins
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Your thoughts are extremely stupid. No wonder those apostles are like you—absolutely disgusting," the Dark Witch snapped abruptly. With a wave of her hand, beams of scarlet energy shot forward, crackling with immense force—like a nuclear core ready to erupt, terrifying and overwhelming.
"Let me see for myself just how powerful the Scarlet Witch who's mastered the complete Darkhold truly is!" Nightmare sneered, unfazed by her words. His laughter echoed eerily—like a true demon stepping into reality, oozing fear and dread that made the scalp tingle.
He stretched his large hand outward and clenched slightly. Instantly, invisible forces erupted outward, cloaking the once-bright sky in suffocating darkness. Under the command of this energy, silver lightning bolts flickered erratically—maddened, as if they had become rabid beasts rampaging across the clouds.
Zzzzzz!!
Bolts of lightning crashed down from above—unrelenting, like an imprisoned monster finally unleashed, tearing through the heavens in a frenzy.
The two opposing forces collided in a shattering crescendo. The sky roared with a deafening explosion, and even the moonlight seemed to falter beneath the weight of their might.
Most of the terrain below fractured like shattered glass, the cracks spreading outward in a chaotic web. The once-proud hill behind them collapsed, as if crushed by the detonation of a million energy cores.
Kamar-Taj's sacred structures weren't spared. Debris from shattered stones and splintered ground rained down, destroying rooftops and monuments, leaving only wreckage in their wake.
The Dark Witch stared intently toward the hill's ruins. She didn't dare relax. That strange energy had stirred a primal unease deep within her—an unstable, unpredictable force that gnawed at her instincts.
"Careful!!"
