In the dimly lit corner, Gorr the God Butcher's expression was tense, his grip tightening on the Necrosword. Those eyes—there was something unnatural about them.

His instincts screamed at him to turn and leave, to escape whatever presence loomed behind him, but hesitation clawed at his thoughts. Something was wrong.

And then—

A hand settled on his shoulder. A deep, steady voice whispered near his ear.

A violent shudder racked through Gorr's entire frame. His muscles tensed, his breath caught in his throat, and for the first time in centuries, he felt it—true, unshakable dread.

The man he had just been watching had vanished from the square without a trace.

And now, he was here.
