"Who’s there?!" Li Qiao, jolted awake by Li Jinhua’s stirring, couldn’t fall back asleep.
A loud thud came from outside, and she remembered the thieves who clambered over the walls of the small courtyards in Beijing at night. She grew tense and added, "This is Loser Qin’s house! If you know what’s good for you, scram! Otherwise, tomorrow I’ll bring people to raid your home."
The villagers wouldn’t dare steal.
Worried the intruder might do something drastic, she prepared to get out of bed and lock the door from the inside.

She was actually using his reputation to scare someone.
Li Qiao recognized Qin Jin’s voice and became angry, "Why are you climbing the wall into your own house?!" He had done it once before, and now again!
Qin Jin pushed the door open and walked in, justifying himself, "Didn’t I do it because I was worried about you getting up and catching a cold breeze?"
