Zhu Lingyun softly replied with an "oh" and sat against the wall next to her, but her eyes couldn’t hide the bright light.

The Daoist Nuns finished tormenting Xuan Su, ignoring her broken right hand, and each one sat beside the shared bed, snarling, "Go, get us some foot-washing water."

Xuan Su’s right hand hung limply. She cried and said, "My right hand is broken, can’t you wait until I get better? When I’m better, I promise to get foot-washing water for you all, I promise to serve you well."

The Daoist Nuns menacingly replied, "No, go now, or you won’t sleep. Stand by the bed and recite the Taoist Scripture until dawn!"

Xuan Su had no choice but to limp towards the side room.

Bai Li wearily closed her eyes, but she didn’t sleep. She needed to guard against Xuan Su’s revenge.

Zhu Lingyun, seeing her tired face, whispered, "Sis, just take a nap. I’ll keep watch. I’ll call you if anything happens."

Bai Li pondered for a moment, finally nodded, and let her eyelids droop in exhaustion.

Uncertain how much time passed, a plump shadow silently approached the shared bed with tongs holding a piece of glowing charcoal, glaring menacingly at Bai Li.

Bai Li was asleep sitting against the wall on the shared bed, Zhu Lingyun’s head resting on Bai Li’s shoulder, drool trickling from her mouth.
