Chapter 20 - 020 I’ve Washed It for Them

"Not a trouble at all, Mother. You go and fetch clothes for Little Five and Xiaoqi, I'll help them wash up. Which towel do they use?" Zhang Shanni looked at her two adorable and well-behaved little nieces and genuinely couldn't bear to see them dirty, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. While speaking, she began preparing the bathwater.
There were several towels hanging on the wall, and she didn't really know which belonged to whom.
"That little red towel is for the two girls, next to it are Xiao Liu and Xiao Si's, and the large ones are for the adults." As for her several grandsons, their towels were always kept in the left wing, and they would bring towels, basins, and clothes over when it was time for a bath.
"Alright, Mother, you watch over them while I wash up for them," Zhang Shanni glanced at the wooden tubs in the room and had a general understanding. She quickly filled two tubs with warm water, using one for bathing and the other for the two little girls to soak in.
She didn't see any shower gel, as such advanced daily necessities didn't exist at this time. There was soap, though, which looked very rough.
Having no choice, Zhang Shanni knew very well about soap—using it normally is fine, but in winter, it can make skin particularly dry. Thankfully, it was just the beginning of autumn. She rubbed a bit of soap onto Xiaoqi's head and scratched her somewhat long and yellow hair, making sure to dissolve all the mud in her hair.
She then rubbed some soap twice over her small body, gently massaging her all over before rinsing her clean, and finally placed her in the other tub. The hot water came just up to her neck when she sat down.
Xiaoqi was rather small and would move around if uncomfortable. When it came to washing Little Five, she was very cooperative, helping with her own undressing, and would obediently close her eyes when told. Warm water poured over her body, she didn't get a bit scared like Xiaoqi, instead, she comfortably squinted her eyes.
