Fatal Strike: Mercenary Road of Gunfire Ranger

Chapter 301 - 297: Giving Night Vision Goggles Upon Meeting

Mountain Eagle landed in Bangkok aboard Deveka’s private jet, then hopped into a brand-new Hilux pickup truck and sped towards Pattaya.

The combat dog Balang was still giving Mountain Eagle the cold shoulder. As the truck zoomed along, Balang, seated in the back, rested his head on the window to watch the traffic flow, adamantly avoiding eye contact with Mountain Eagle.

Mountain Eagle hadn’t actually planned to take Balang into combat, since they hadn’t fully bonded yet, and frankly, Mountain Eagle himself didn’t want to take action if it could be avoided this time.

He brought Balang along to see if the dog’s keen sense of smell could be of any help and to reacquaint the combat dog with the atmosphere of battle.

Balang’s arrogant demeanor was asking for a spanking, but Mountain Eagle liked this stubborn beast. The tougher the bonding, the easier it was to pinpoint issues, which could then be promptly resolved or just abandoned entirely.

While driving, Mountain Eagle occasionally scratched Balang’s neck. If Balang started to get anxious, he would exit the highway and find a secluded spot for Balang to relieve himself.

After a four-hour drive and two rest stop breaks, they also found and bought some of Balang’s favorite dog food and several toys that caught his interest at a supermarket.

Finally, before arriving at the Joint Investigation Team’s office, Mountain Eagle managed to catch Balang’s attention.

Parking on the outskirts, Mountain Eagle, clad in jeans and a white T-shirt, stepped out of the truck, walked around to the back seat, and pulled out a large bag. From it, he fetched a tactical vest and a lightweight tactical helmet and put them on.

Seeing Balang grow restless at the smell of gunpowder, Mountain Eagle took out a custom-made bullet-proof vest for combat dogs. While calming the agitated dog, he fitted the vest onto Balang.

After finally adjusting the size, Mountain Eagle attached a leash to the hook on Balang’s back and clipped the leash to his own waist belt, restricting Balang to move only in close proximity to himself.
