Chapter 210: Little reunion
As Tang Haitao had expected, the court case against Ehuang’s parents was going downhill.
Dr. Xie Jietang was dead.
His helper was dead.
Yu Heng was dead.
There was nothing left now that could really prove Yu Long’s prior and deliberate connection to Xie Jietang. Though Jia’s recording was available and despite numerous attempts by the prosecutor to consider the evidence, the judge refused to bend.
The second matter of Jia’s confession had also caused a roar in the courtroom. The judge was clearly furious at Jia’s blatant disrespect of the court’s judgment and ordered a separate investigation and court hearing for her case.
Until then no bail would be granted to Jia.
"Honorable Judge, I please request you to order for an investigation into Mr. Yu Heng’s death. It cannot be a coincidence that just two days before the court’s hearing when he was supposed to testify against his brother, he suddenly died in an accident! There is somebody who doesn’t want him to expose this whole shady and illegal practice of surgeries!"
The judge said, "That investigation is a separate matter and will be handled separately. For now, there is no basis or any other evidence to convict Mr. Yu Long and his wife of any crime. I cannot unnecessarily keep them in custody."
"But Mr. Yu Heng’s death-"
He raised his palm. "We can hear the prosecution if you are able to establish a link between his death and Miss. Ehuang’s surgeries. Until then, the court will relieve Mr. and Mrs. Yu of the accusations."
