"That’s exactly why he accompanied you immediately after the party, right? Just so that he could keep you away from the balcony and when you would be fast asleep, quietly tip-toe out of your balcony to climb his way up."
Xin Manchu breathed hard as his chest rapidly swelled in and out.

"Booossss!" Bojing cried and whispered to him. "C-can you not see that s-she is terrified?"

Shilin cast a sideways glance at Meng Rin, who was clenching her fists, clearly shaken more so by Mingshen’s taunt. Though it wasn’t directed at her, Shilin could still sense a distinct dread in her irises.
Why is she so frightened anyway?
