"But you just said a minute ago that she might have probably gotten into an argument with Wan Guanting. Something triggered her and she killed him. But now you suggest that this was a planned murder. So which is it? Crime of passion or crime of planning? It cannot be both at once," Jia questioned him.
His brow twitched.
"If it was a crime of passion, then maybe Miss. Chow’s statement that she fainted is true. She suddenly realized what she did and maybe the stress got to her. Or maybe they were talking the whole time and she killed him near the end just before she left. That explains the time. In this case, she is lying.
But if it was planned, then the gap between her entering and leaving his room doesn’t make sense. Suffocating a heavily drunk man wouldn’t have taken much time. She could have easily left in just five minutes. Ten minutes max."
His expression twisted with annoyance. "What do you want to say, Miss. Song?"
Jia slowly said, weighing her words, "There are still a lot of questions to be answered. But my initial hypothesis is that Miss. Chow really found him already dead."
Chow Mey’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected a cop to take her side despite such overwhelming evidence.
