Chapter 82: A second injury
Jia revisited the horror house’s first tunnel. She made Bojing take place where Anhe was found injured and unconscious while she walked through the twisted ways of the maze slowly and steadily, observing her surroundings around her.
She took in the eerie air filled with a musky scent and the chill threatening to raise goosebumps on her skin. She wanted to feel the disorientation of the maze, imagining the looming threat of a ghost keeping its haunting gaze on her and ready to jump at her at any moment. The faint mist in the air only added to make the thoughts more befuddled. The creepy, approaching noises introduced a disconcerting sense of nausea.
From the incident site, she walked up to the dead end point where Yibo had been chilling at the time. That was the closest distance to where Anhe was found. But it was a simple dead end and she found nothing of substance.
She then traced her steps, following the zig-zag path towards where Jinping claimed he was hovering around. She craned her head back and except for a narrow slit between two walls, her further view was obstructed by the distant flat wall.
Repeating her previous path, she took a U-turn along the maze to visit the place where Aang had seen the ghostly pumpkin prop. From there to Anhe’s place was the longest route since after coming out, he would walk a little straight, take a right turn and then a big long, left turn until he reached the last corner.
Along the way, she didn’t miss to notice the roof mirrors. At one spot in the middle of the maze, she finally found a tilted angle where she could partially see Bojing.
What if somebody passed through this spot and noticed Anhe running around the place?
With questions in her mind, she went back to where Bojing was waiting for her.
"Sis. Did you find anything?"
"Not as of now. I just wanted to take feel of this place "
"What did Boss s-say to you?"
