Chapter 42: No hope left
The sound of the police siren racketed through the air as the car zoomed through the roads of Dongdan. It stopped before a park and Jia and Huojin rushed out with Mingshen following behind them.
From afar, Jia noticed the Ma family on one side near the bench whereas Dai Meihui stood at a short distance from Dai Fengge with the fatigue of stress clearly visible on her face. A small crowd of morning walkers had formed around the place where the incident happened.
An officer from the local police station stood in attention. "Superitendent Song."
Jia asked, slightly breathless, "What happened?"
From beside her, Mingshen already crossed her and made his way towards Ma Zhilan, who was seated on the bench, still shaken and shivering.
His piercing gaze watched Dai Fengge being handcuffed and in custody of a junior police officer. Mingshen heard him muttering curses as he stood before him.
"Heyyyyy the cheater with the broken nose~"
As he said that, he simultaneously pinched his bruised nose between his thumb and index finger and squeezed it until the crack of a bone was heard and blood spurted out.
"Aaaahhhhhh!!! Stop! Stop!!!"
Tears immediately fell as an excruciating pain shot up to his brain. He felt as if he was dropped straight to hell. He collapsed on his knees, bawling with the agonizing pain.
Dai Meihui gasped and took a step back.
