Chapter 69: Threat
"Why?" Luis was confused, being told that his courage was far from infinite.
"You’ll have to figure that out yourself," replied Madam Sofia with a smile, only making Luis more confused.
It wasn’t like he had no suspicions, but he found it unlikely that Madam Sofia was referring to his lack of courage simply because he hadn’t dared to flirt with her, even though he was clearly attracted to her.
Yes, if he had limitless courage, wouldn’t he have tried to seduce her without caring about her views on him?
However, the woman he truly wanted to date was Alice.
He was merely captivated by Madam Sofia because that was unavoidable for any normal man.
Unless, of course, he had a very liberal ideology where dating just one woman wasn’t enough.
Luis remained doubtful, unable to say anything, only continuing to follow Madam Sofia’s movements while occasionally glancing at her exceptionally beautiful face.
"Madam, wouldn’t Mr. Zarion be upset if you danced with another man?" Luis changed the topic, recalling that Madam Sofia was supposedly Mr. Zarion’s lover.
"I’m not sure, but I don’t think he’ll find out. There’s no one from his organization here besides the two of us, and he wouldn’t bother investigating what I do on this island," Madam Sofia replied.
"Why, are you scared?" she added with a chuckle.
