Merchant From Earth in the Magical World

Chapter 118 - 116: Racing_1

Due to the terrain of Wildwind Highlands, Yan Xing selected mountain bikes with strong off-road capabilities for the Werewolf Warriors. These bikes had large tires, a simple structure, and excellent traversal capability. They were also durable, possessed good shock absorption, and were lightweight. If the terrain became impassable by bike, they could simply carry them. Equipping an army with bicycles on a large scale had precedents in modern warfare history and had proven exceptionally useful in areas lacking good roads.

Thus, bicycles became standard issue for Light-Armored Werewolf Warriors of the Eternal Domain.

Hibel diligently practiced riding the bicycle but still couldn’t bring herself to lift both feet off the ground simultaneously. Seeing Yan Xing approaching, she immediately got off the bicycle and began explaining her awkwardness, "This is too hard to learn, even harder than riding a Griffon. I really don’t understand how those Werewolves do it. They sit on it without ever toppling over."

"This is called a bicycle." Yan Xing took the bicycle from Hibel’s hand and began adjusting the seat and handlebar height. "Before you learn to ride a bicycle," he explained, "you need to adjust it to a comfortable height. Werewolves’ legs are different from human legs; they prefer to set the seat lower to make it easier to exert force. They also like the handlebars lower, causing their bodies to almost lie flat on the bike, shifting their center of gravity forward. Humans, especially beginners, need to raise the seat a bit higher, and the handlebars as well. This allows the legs to extend properly and lets the seat support more of the body’s weight."

Yan Xing finished adjusting the bicycle and handed it to Hibel. "Alright, give it another try."

Sitting on the bicycle, Hibel felt much more comfortable than before and, eager to try, she asked Yan Xing, "Can I ride it now?"

"I’ll teach you a few more cycling tips, and then you can ride it. First, you need to be brave; secondly, be very brave; and most importantly, definitely be brave. You’re not afraid to fly high on a Griffon, so why be afraid of a fall on the ground?"

With that, Yan Xing hopped onto another bicycle without adjusting it. He called out to Hibel, "Come on, follow me! Start pedaling!"

Yan Xing pedaled forward, cycling along the grassy field.

Seeing Yan Xing riding with such ease ahead, Hibel summoned the courage she had when she first learned to ride a Griffon and pedaled shakily after him.

Once she overcame her mental block, Hibel’s excellent coordination—befitting a powerful Knight—soon allowed her to control the bicycle.

Her feet pedaled alternately, and the bicycle surged forward rapidly.
