Chapter 426: Speak with Confidence
Both parties reached an agreement.
Yu Changfeng could never have imagined that, after so many years, Fairy Valley still existed. He had to reassess the situation.
Back when he was undergoing Tao Verification, those big shots had nearly killed him several times before finally suppressing him here.
But how had Fairy Valley escaped?
In just a few short minutes, many possibilities crossed his mind. The hands of those big shots couldn’t reach in here recklessly. Or perhaps... within the empire, terrifying entities had always been blocking their way.
This is an opportunity, Yu Changfeng thought. I should do something. Resist, undergo Tao Verification, turn Fairy Valley into a formidable power, perhaps even forge it into a second Wen Dynasty. Of course, the first step is to break free from this suppression.
"Find the Qiankun Mirror." This was his first request to Chen Pingping.
A Divine Weapon.
No, to be precise, the Qiankun Mirror was Yu Changfeng’s true Destiny God Weapon. The Three-legged Immortal Cauldron above his head, on the other hand, was the continuation of the empire’s Fate Energy.
This secret, aside from Wu Ji, was known to almost no one else.
Chen Pingping nodded, then turned to pick up the Earth Chicken and walk aside. He whispered softly, "Are you confident?"
Earth Chicken: "???"
"The Qiankun Mirror, did you hear me clearly?" Chen Pingping blinked. "The plan is for you to lead Mao Qiu into Fairy Valley, find the Qiankun Mirror, and bring it back."
She understood.
But what did this have to do with her?
Earth Chicken rolled her eyes. "I’m not going."
Superpowers weren’t ordinary forces. Fairy Valley was guarded by Saint Realm experts everywhere. The slightest mistake would expose them.
She wasn’t stupid.
Chen Pingping glared at her. "Didn’t you two have fun together before? What, are you scared now?"
Earth Chicken retorted, "That’s Fairy Valley! I’m not going. I’m afraid of dying. Why don’t you go?"
"I’m scared of dying too!" Chen Pingping looked at her.
Earth Chicken gave a sidelong glance. "Hmph! Let me remind you," she said, her voice sharp, "this is Wuji Sect. You’re a disciple of Qingfeng, apprentice to Wen Yuqing. That man is at least a Quasi-Emperor Realm expert! With a flick of his finger, Wuji Sect would be flattened!"
"Yeah! She’s right," came a voice from behind.
The conversation between the human and the chicken instantly quieted.
Yu Changfeng smiled. "Young man, you’re a member of the Human Clan. She’s just a chicken, incapable of bearing such a burden. You’re sending her? You’d be better off leaving her for me to barbecue."
His words were calm, but they dripped with disdain.
Earth Chicken was furious but didn’t respond; she truly didn’t dare to go.
Alas!
In the end, Chen Pingping was forced to shoulder the heavy burden. A light sigh escaped him, his heart filled with indescribable melancholy and sorrow. Master, I’ve given too much for you, he thought. If you don’t bear me more than ten children later, you’ll have truly wronged me.
After a moment’s hesitation, Chen Pingping took Jiang Ni’er and Mao Qiu with him and hurriedly departed.
Behind him, Yu Changfeng was startled. Huh, that fellow didn’t ask me for a token, he thought. I was all set to give him one to prove I’m still alive. If Chen Pingping had been more demanding, I might have even passed on one or two powerful offensive skills to him. But he just left.
"Senior, Senior, I’m here..." Earth Chicken sidled over with a fawning smile.
"An Ancient Phoenix?"
"Yes, that’s me!"
"Shall we talk?"
"Sure!"
"Interested in joining me?" Yu Changfeng narrowed his eyes.
"Of course," she replied.
"I’m thinking of integrating Wuji Sect into Fairy Valley. What are your thoughts?" Yu Changfeng asked again.
"Reasonable."
The man and the chicken, brimming with smiles, walked arm in arm as if they were old friends reunited after many years. Their demeanor was completely different from their earlier reactions and expressions.
But Yu Changfeng failed to notice that Mao Qiu, who had just run out after Chen Pingping, had returned. Using the Earth Chicken as cover, it silently gulped down the Three-legged Immortal Cauldron.
Then, transforming into a gust of wind, it escaped.
Outside the City of Extinction.
Jiang Ni’er, who had already walked some distance, subconsciously looked back, her face full of concern. "Chen, was that man really Yu Changfeng?"
"Should be," Chen Pingping replied, touching the bridge of his nose.
"Oh, having a Quasi-Emperor in our home... is that really alright?" Jiang Ni’er asked.
"No problem. That old hen will keep an eye on him." Chen Pingping smiled, because Mao Qiu had returned, signaling its success.
With the Three-legged Immortal Cauldron, the trip to Fairy Valley will be incredibly smooth. If things go as planned, I’ll also use this ancient cauldron to take down Fairy Valley. HEH HEH! The perfect plan. With Yu Changfeng in my grasp, who in Fairy Valley would dare disobey?
Chen Pingping chuckled. "Ni’er, stand up straight. Speak with confidence. When you look at the disciples of Fairy Valley, treat them as kindly as you would your own family."
Jiang Ni’er looked puzzled. "Chen, are we going to start showing off?"
"What kind of nonsense is that?" Chen Pingping said, displeased.
"I misspoke. Are we going to start showing off again?" she asked, her tone very serious this time.
Chen Pingping rolled his eyes and ignored the girl.
With the Three-legged Immortal Cauldron in hand, it was tantamount to having Yu Changfeng in his grasp. With this trump card, Fairy Valley’s merger with Wuji Sect was only a matter of time.
I have to make good use of this. This is an opportunity to soar to the heavens!
A moment later...
From the distance, an indignant voice roared, "AAARGH! Damn it! You bastard! How dare you appear before this Young Master again!"
A scholar with tattered clothes and disheveled hair charged over, cursing furiously.
He had caught sight of Chen Pingping while still far off. He paused. Memories of past events flooded back, along with the image of that bastard’s two junior martial sisters. The scholar, unable to contain his rage, flames of fury burning, immediately charged toward them.
Unfortunately, not long before, he had battled three powerful experts. He repeatedly explained he was a disciple of Fairy Valley, but the three were relentless, attacking him like madmen.
Thankfully, an elder from his sect had hurried over and intercepted the three, allowing him to escape.
But he was already exhausted. Now, as he attempted to use his skills, he couldn’t even muster his killing intent before plummeting from the sky with a THUD. He crashed heavily to the ground.
Jiang Ni’er said, "Chen, we should kill him."
"Why?" Chen Pingping asked, astonished.
"He harbors killing intent towards us, and he’s also a young prodigy of Fairy Valley..." she said earnestly.
The explanation was logical. Nipping a formidable enemy in the bud was indeed a wise move.
But the current situation was different.
I plan to integrate Fairy Valley into Wuji Sect. This means everything about the sect—its heritage, experts, disciples, and so on—will eventually belong to Wuji Sect. That includes this man before me, a powerful young prodigy! So, I can’t kill him.
Chen Pingping’s gaze softened as he looked at the scholar. "Come now, don’t be afraid. Tell me what happened. Who’s been bullying you?"
The scholar was taken aback.
"We’re all family here, don’t be shy," Chen Pingping said with a radiant smile, taking out a Spirit Pill to help him recover from his injuries.
