Chapter 92: Looking for Younger Uncle
Zhao Zhitong let out a "WOW!" Her eyes sparkled as she imitated the way her mother praised her, "Sister, you’re so amazing."
Zhao Ya’s face flushed red with embarrassment at Zhao Zhitong’s praise. "No, no, my little sister is amazing too," she said shyly.
Watching the two young girls complimenting each other in the vegetable garden, Sun Mei couldn’t help but laugh and called them over.
"Alright, you two, come out and give me the scallions."
At this time, Zhao Cheng had already chopped a pile of firewood.
After giving the scallions to Sun Mei, Zhao Ya immediately helped carry them into the kitchen. Zhao Zhitong insisted on helping as well.
However, she could only carry two scallions at a time. After two trips, her little face was bright red.
Zhao Yu started using the large firewood they had carried in. Steamed buns smelled and tasted best when cooked with large firewood.
Since the weather was still quite hot and they didn’t have a refrigerator, Sun Mei didn’t steam too many buns. She made two baskets—one of plain buns and one of flower rolls—which would be enough for them for two or three days.
Actually, she could have steamed more and stored them in Zhao Zhitong’s space, just needing to re-steam them briefly when it was time to eat.
However, doing so could easily make the children suspicious. The fewer people who knew about Zhao Zhitong’s space, the better.
After the water boiled, Sun Mei placed the sliced buns into the steamer. While Zhao Yu watched the fire, she began to prepare porridge and stir-fry dishes.
