Chapter 104: A deeper character
The noble smiled when he saw how serious they were. He recalled something that his grandfather had shown him down in the deepest part of their home. It would be a nice thing to experiment on these two.
"Alright then, let’s carry out the oath. I believe I have something that will be able to give the both of you the power needed to take down those students, as long as you are willing to take the risk," he said.
"If it means becoming demons, I’ll do it, as long as they get destroyed," he responded with conviction.
Mathias stood in the back watching. He clenched his fist, trying to make up his mind to go through with this. A part of him told him that his failure was his fault, but the beauty of believing that it wasn’t made him not want to accept that.
After the agreement, the noble led both of them out of the alley, the smile on his face refusing to go down like a man who had just won a lottery.

Inside the restaurant, Mia paid for the damages they had caused and they both left. She didn’t apologize, she only paid, but that made sense as she would be apologizing to a noble, something that wasn’t really part of the system.
"You should have let me pay," Riven said.
"I’m the one who beat them up and caused the damages, so it’s only right the responsibility falls to me," she said.
