Chapter 231: There is nothing between us
Damon’s apology meant nothing to Silas, because he didn’t even blink after hearing it.
Lysander, who had been quiet all this time, finally mustered the courage to say something.
"Silas."
Silas’s eyes fell on Lysander, and seeing Lysander’s innocent face, which seemed on the verge of crying at any moment—
"Ohh, so you were also here? I don’t understand why you both are coming to meet me. I don’t have anything to say. Or don’t tell me you don’t remember at all how you treated me back then."
Silas’s words were piercing through both of their hearts.
"I was telling you I didn’t do anything, still you believed it was me who offered money to someone to kill Orian. Really, how can you think this less of me? I am really disappointed, and I am not planning to forgive anyone — because of whom Velric and I were about to die."
Lysander stood beside Damon while tears welled up in his eyes, and his nose was becoming red too.
"I am sorry, Silas. It’s all my fault. At least I should have believed you back then, but I didn’t, because that scene made me blindly trust that the mastermind behind Orian’s kidnapping was you."
Silas smiled gently, but it only showed the bitterness in his heart for both of them.
"Lysander, I don’t blame you, because why would you trust an outsider like me? And that same thing applies here — why would I listen to outsiders like you?"
