Theo had been running lap after lap around Sage Mellow Village for the last 6+ hours. He was sweaty and exhausted, and his legs hurt from running for so long. He'd take 30 minute breaks every hour and a half, and he did find some berries and nuts in the forest that were edible, so he wasn't really running on an empty stomach. Sadly, the hunger was still there, and the physical exhaustion made it worse.
As he read over his progress, he couldn't help but internally snicker at the system's input comment. It had started doing this, adding its input, when Theo had finished the very first task. He had initially thought it was a system malfunction, but he's come to just accept it as a sassy system with a weird sense of humour.
Not that he cared too much about that, either. If he had to tolerate a snarky system as the price for his power, then he'd do it for lifetimes on end and still be able to stand its annoyin— interesting personality. So long as he got powerful, he didn't care the price... At least, for now, anyway.
