Chapter 54: Registration
Seeing that Xu Qing was unwilling to explain further, Han Yu decided to let it go—for now.
'If she's such a big shot, I'll definitely hear about her from the others,' Han Yu thought to himself, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.
He continued flying alongside Xu Qing as she rattled off more details about the sect. These were apparently things every disciple needed to know, and Han Yu tried his best to memorize them. But there was just so much.
'Is it normal to have to remember all of this?' he wondered. 'I could fill a hundred-page book with this alone!'
What Han Yu didn't realize was that all of this information was typically given over a span of several weeks—even months—to help new disciples adjust at a reasonable pace. But Xu Qing, in her quest for efficiency, had crammed it all into a single crash course.
They flew for about an hour before finally reaching their destination.
"We are officially within the Twin Leaf Peak Sect now," Xu Qing declared. "Remember to mind your manners. You already know what the punishment for breaking the rules is like."
"Yes!" Han Yu shivered, recalling the horrifyingly detailed descriptions Xu Qing had given of the sect's punishments. Some of them had sounded so bad that even being locked up in the town jail seemed like a luxury in comparison.
Some, he didn't even want to imagine.
"Come on, we'll get your registration done," Xu Qing said, leading him toward a massive hall at the base of Scholar Peak.
This peak handled most of the administrative work of the sect, and as such, the registration building for new disciples had been built at its base for easy access. After all, dragging a bunch of recruits—who might not even qualify as disciples—up the mountain only to send them back down would have been a waste of time and energy.
