Chapter 37: A Master’s Concern
Xu Qing groaned dramatically before standing up. "Fine, fine! But if I have to listen to one more farmer's kid claim, he's 'destined for greatness' while barely able to lift a sword, I swear—"
"Xu Qing."
"...Right. I'm going."
As she stomped off, the old man chuckled to himself for a moment, but then his expression grew somber.
'This should be of some help to her,' the old man thought as he took out a bracelet.
The bracelet was thin, barely a finger wide, but the deep red jewel on its top was even larger, being twice as wide. It had the shape of an eight-pointed star and sparkled dazzlingly with its many facets. The old man gazed at it for several minutes, lost in thought. He didn't even realize how much time had passed when Xu Qing returned.
"You're still here, Master?" Xu Qing was a bit surprised.
She had assumed he would have already returned to his own room by now. From what she knew, her master was practically married to cultivation and didn't waste even a minute. In fact, it was rare for her to meet with him for longer than ten minutes at a time.
And yet, here he was, personally instructing her today.

Seeing her, the old man let out a long sigh and held up the bracelet.
