Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law

Chapter 875 - 871:

Camila didn't think too much, nor did she notice the change in his expression. She walked past him and went upstairs to change clothes.

Watching her figure disappear before him, Charles thought bitterly: You can't keep a grown woman.

Suddenly recalling something, Charles quickly turned around and walked out.

He exited the villa, approached Jimmy Horne's car, and knocked on the window. When Jimmy rolled it down, Charles swung a punch at him.

Jimmy tilted his head, dodging the punch, and swiftly caught Charles's fist before it could retreat. He looked at him coldly, kept his lips sealed.

Jimmy didn't want to engage in a confrontation with Charles, so he remained silent.

"Jimmy Horne, you bastard!"

Charles growled, the suppressed pain and jealousy on his face evident before Jimmy.

Jimmy stared at him coldly, still silent.

"You must take responsibility for Camila!"

Charles gritted his teeth and growled again.

"I will, of course, take full responsibility for Camila," Jimmy finally spoke up.

Once Hansen Ruiz and his wife returned from their second honeymoon, he would propose to them. He wanted to marry Camila, or no, as Camila said, get engaged first.

Engagement first, then. He would go along with her wishes, even though he wanted nothing more than to step into the wedding chapel right away. But considering their young age, they should enjoy the sweetness of love before walking down the aisle.

"I want you to promise me that you'll have only Camila and love only her in the future!" Though Charles wanted nothing more than to tear Jimmy apart, he played the elder brother role, forcing a promise out of Jimmy.

Jimmy opened the car door, stepped out, and stood before Charles. Meeting Charles's piercing gaze, he replied coldly, "Don't worry. I, Jimmy Horne, will love only Camila my entire life. I'll cherish her forever and always!"

Camila sees Charles as a brother, and Charles's behavior mirrors that of an older brother right now. Jimmy didn't mind making a promise to him.

Whether he promised or not, his heart was set on Camila.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have returned to find her after so many years apart.

"You better back your words; otherwise, even if it hurts Camila, I'll take her away from you!"

Charles spoke the words coldly.

Jimmy's expression was gravely serious as he responded icily, "You won't get the chance!"

Camila was his, his woman, and no one else could have her.

"What are you two talking about?"

Camila, now in a black suit dress and holding a handbag, saw the two standing opposite each other, sensing something was off. Worried that they might clash, she quickly intervened.

"Nothing,"

To Camila's surprise, both Charles and Jimmy answered in unison.

"Camila, since you now have a knight to escort you to work, I can relax. Get in the car quickly; you'll be late," Charles quickly regained his casual demeanor and said to Camila with a smile.

"I knew you never liked taking me to work," Camila said playfully, teasingly distorting the truth to Charles.

"Turns out you are aware of it,"

Charles chuckled teasingly as well.

He opened the car door for her and gently helped her inside, then thoughtfully fastened her seatbelt. After closing the door, his expression turned cold when he looked at Jimmy, and he advised, "Be careful on the road; it's rush hour now. And since you returned in a hurry, Camila probably hasn't had breakfast. Pack her some breakfast outside."

"Got it!"

Jimmy responded curtly to his nagging, then got into the car and drove off.

The whole way, Camila seemed lost in thought and didn't speak.

Driving, Jimmy observed her expression through the rearview mirror.

Passing by the Golden Phoenix Hotel, he packed some food for her to have as breakfast. Meanwhile, he hadn't eaten anything himself, too focused on her hunger to remember his own.

By the time they arrived at Valence Group, it was past eight o'clock.

Camila was late.

"It's all your fault,"

Camila muttered as she got out of the car, gently blaming Jimmy for her tardiness.

Jimmy just handed her the packed breakfast with a doting smile.

Camila accepted the bag containing several breakfast boxes, took two out, placed them on the car hood, and said softly, "You missed breakfast too. These two are for you, remember to eat them."

"Okay, got it. Now go on in. I'll come by to have lunch with you later."

Camila waved him goodbye before heading into the company.

Already late, Camila saw no need to rush into the building as usual. As she entered the office building, a receptionist stopped her with a large bouquet of flowers.

"Assistant Ruiz, a gentleman sent these flowers for you and asked me to pass them on,"

The receptionist said, handing the bouquet to Camila. Although she wore a professional smile, Camila detected a hint of dissatisfaction in her gaze.

Camila, puzzled, accepted the bouquet—who could have sent them?

Rummaging through the flowers, she found a note adorned with powerful yet messy handwriting: "A beauty with flowers. Joseph Colson."

Joseph Colson?

The Joseph Colson, who gave her the impression of a sinister person, sent her flowers?

The message even hinted at flirtation.

"And that gentleman also mentioned coming by to treat Assistant Ruiz to lunch. You truly have the most romantic luck in the company," the receptionist joked, slyly criticizing Camila for flirting with other men even when she had someone as outstanding as Ivan Horne. First, there was that handsome man who appeared recently, and now someone who appeared wealthy—such insatiability. Were it any of them, one Jimmy would be enough to be content, let alone entangle with other men.

Camila detected the dissatisfaction in her tone and said nothing, heading to the elevator with the flowers.

Arriving at the elevator, she didn't hesitate to throw the bouquet into the trash bin beside it.

No matter what Joseph's intentions were in sending flowers, she didn't want them!
