Chapter 869 - 865: Staying Overnight at the Nameless Manor (1)
"Billy, I don't want to eat at the hotel." After walking out of the villa and getting into Jimmy Horne's car, Camila Ruiz suddenly said.
Jimmy Horne looked at her intensely. Upon hearing her words, he chuckled softly and said, "Okay, we won't eat at the hotel." After speaking, he leaned over slightly to fasten her seatbelt for her. Camila, who was about to fasten her seatbelt, stopped her movements at his gesture and let him take care of her attentively.
If it weren't for the summer when she was fifteen, when he took her by his side to spend the summer with him, she wouldn't have believed he could be so attentive to such minute details.
"This dress looks like clothing only when you wear it." After fastening her seatbelt, Jimmy remained slightly leaning over, his deep eyes filled with warmth and lingering on her face, reluctant to leave.
"Does it really look good?" Camila blushed lightly and asked cautiously.
Brother Li coaxed her many times to wear this dress, but she was never willing to. Tonight, when she opened the wardrobe, she pulled out the dress without hesitation. In fact, she quite liked the dress. She just didn't understand why she was never interested in wearing it when Brother Li told her to, but now that she was meeting Billy, she took it without a second thought.
The phrase "A woman dresses to please the man she loves" suddenly flashed through her mind. Women dress up only to please the men they like.
"Your skin is fair and delicate, seemingly flawless, and this purple color makes your skin look even more radiant and alluring. The dress fittingly outlines your slender waist, and the slightly longer skirt hem due to your slim figure actually makes you appear even taller. So, this dress is made for you." Jimmy said tenderly.
Camila smiled without responding.
Suddenly, Jimmy's handsome face enlarged several times before her eyes; she raised her brow, her eyes filled with questioning.
Jimmy pointed at his cheek and flirtatiously winked at her, saying, "Camila, you haven't given me a greeting gift yet."
Greeting gift?
Camila blushed deeply. This guy, if he wants to take advantage, why doesn't he just say so plainly instead of being so subtle?
"I love your flushed face."
The car finally drove away from the Ruiz Family.
The sky had already darkened, and the streets were bright with neon lights.
During the day, it was scorching hot like a furnace; people dared not go out unless absolutely necessary, choosing to stay indoors instead. After a torrential rain in the evening, there might not be a rainbow, but the temperature was cooled down a few degrees. The weather was most pleasant at this moment, thus the streets were filled with pedestrians. If standing on a viaduct and looking down, it was a sea of heads.
Despite the black sky not turning pitch dark due to rain, there were stars scattered across the sky, and a crescent moon hung high, its faint light falling from the sky, swallowed by the colorful lights.
Nameless Manor was very quiet.
Florence Ford had left Nameless Manor in the afternoon, returning to the gate for further training under Jimmy's instructions. There were ten bodyguards protecting Jimmy, with Florence as the leader. Now that Florence was gone, only nine remained. The nine had no idea why Florence left; she merely told them to protect Jimmy well.
The current Fiery Door is not the Fiery Door of over twenty years ago; as the current heir, Jimmy Horne is far more comfortable compared to his father Noah Reyes, at least he doesn't face the constant threat of assassination like Noah Reyes did.
Eighteen years ago, during Noah Reyes's major cleanup, he dealt with all the ambitious family members thoroughly. The remaining ones, terrified by Noah Reyes's bloody means, dare not make any move, resignedly living as ordinary people, for being ordinary is better than losing one's life.
Besides the two personal bodyguards arranged by Florence who came over when Jimmy's car drove into the manor, the others didn't appear.
"Master, you're back."
Once the car stopped, the two bodyguards opened the car doors for Jimmy and Camila on each side.
Jimmy responded coldly with a hmm, walked around the vehicle, held Camila warmly, saying, "Let's go inside; after dinner, we'll come out for a walk." The manor was large, and the scenery was unique now. Walking after dinner not only benefits their health but also allows them to enjoy the manor's night view, achieving two goals with one move.
"Did you have someone prepare dinner?"
Letting him lead her in, Camila was still observing Nameless Manor. It wasn't her first time here, but each visit was always in haste, so she never really examined the grand manor. Her only memory was the Main House had a very spacious and luxurious hall, comparable to the Horne Family's Main House hall.
"No, I'm cooking for you myself."
Jimmy said in a deep voice, his words filled with his deep love for her.
It's been a long time since he personally cooked for her.
He deeply missed that summer when she was fifteen, spending it together with her, taking care of her, despite the constant danger, lived happily and satisfyingly.
"Need any help?" Camila doesn't stop him from cooking for her; she is satisfied with his culinary skills.
"No need, you can explore freely." Jimmy said considerately, knowing she wanted to tour the Main House.
Sooner or later, she would become the lady of this manor; if she wants to explore, she's free to do so. If she's unsatisfied with anything, he'd have it changed immediately upon her mention.
He thought if they married, should they, like his parents, travel overseas leaving Syrena, or should they stay here and live a relaxing and pleasant life in this Nameless Manor? He chooses the latter.
Camila did not say anything more.
Once inside, Jimmy took off his suit jacket, like a househusband, walked into the kitchen, donned an apron, and started to prepare dinner for them.
Without orders, the bodyguards generally cannot freely enter the Main House; if they could, upon seeing their esteemed young master cooking for a woman, would surely express their disapproval.
