Chapter 66 Glades Horne’s Worries (4)_1
She liked sweet and sour flavors, so she decided to make a sweet and sour dish with the rest of the fish, from which the head had been removed. This way, the fish body wouldn’t be wasted. Seeing that there were ribs in the freezer, she chose to make sweet and sour ribs. Then she decided on shiitake mushroom stir-fried with tender chicken, celery stir-fried with pork belly, steamed eggplant, and a green vegetable dish, making for six dishes and one soup in total.
As she cooked, Glades Horne clumsily assisted her, creating a harmonious picture of husband and wife.
Watching her bustling figure, Glades’s gaze began to darken, deepening by the moment. Yet a faint smile of happiness played on his lips. Being with her, he could taste happiness, even in the most ordinary things, like eating simple home-cooked meals.
Around seven in the evening, Julia finished preparing the six home-style dishes.
"Alright, dinner is ready," she said as she untied the apron at her waist and turned her head to speak to Glades. In the midst of turning, she was startled to find Glades gazing deeply at her. She paused, asking, "What is it? Is there something on me?" She looked down at herself, but didn’t notice anything amiss.
"Julia," Glades called out in a husky voice, his eyes becoming more profound as he stared deeply at her.
