Chapter 59 Class Diehards_1
"Glades? What’s going on? My little Julia, how could you..." Edo Hanley was the first to recover, immediately feigning heartbreak, as if he couldn’t bear for Julia Bluen to be in this situation, and cried out dramatically. However, after receiving an intense glare from Glades Horne, he forced the words on the tip of his tongue back down.
"If we could predict Glades’ moves, he wouldn’t be Glades Horne, would he?" Helen Griffin remarked, snapping out of her surprise and starting to laugh.
The others all chuckled; no one inquired further.
Hearing Glades’ words, Julia Bluen looked up at him. He had been worried she would feel embarrassed, so he had kept the news of the younger sister marrying in place of the elder under wraps, not letting the outside world know. Besides his relatives, only Hansen Ruiz and Benjamin Robinson were aware. By clarifying her identity to his close friends now, he was truly bringing her into his world. Even though we’ve known each other for over twenty years, I had never truly entered his world, Julia thought.
"Now that there are eight of us, let’s split into two teams for doubles. Glades, you and Julia pair up; you can be the husband-and-wife team. I’ll team up with Tomboy here, and we’re going to crush you two lovebirds, it’ll be brutal!" Edo Hanley announced, his tone more serious now, and he stopped calling Julia Bluen "little Julia." Changing the subject, he slung an arm around Helen Griffin’s shoulders like a brother, patting her and saying, "Alright, buddy, let’s show them some teamwork!"
"Don’t worry. Just make sure you don’t embarrass me by holding me back," Helen Griffin retorted good-naturedly, slapping Edo Hanley’s shoulder a few times in return.
Helen Griffin wasn’t bothered by the usual physical boundaries between men and women, and everyone was accustomed to her ways. Nor would anyone mistakenly think Helen Griffin might be romantically involved with any of the men, because she was a lesbian.
So, everyone laughed and joked, sweeping away the stunned atmosphere from before.
