Chapter 56 Warmth Sublimated (2)_1
At their wedding, she had the nerve to curse them with "may you be childless." How could her heart easily forget the pain? Wish them well? Not in a million years!
Julia Bluen had just hung up when her phone trilled again with the "Pleasant Goat, Pretty Goat... Big Big Wolf, Red Wolf..." theme song. It was Dio Powell calling.
A flicker of annoyance crossed Julia Bluen’s face, but she answered the call nonetheless.
"Miss Julia, I know it’s our Diana who wronged you. She knew Nicholas Coldwell was your boyfriend and still snatched him away, but you can’t put all the blame on us—it was Nicholas’s own choice. Miss Julia, I’m begging you, please ask Mr. Glades Horne not to cut off business dealings with our Cosmos Group, okay? Business is tough these days. Miss Julia, I’m truly begging you. You’re a good person; I don’t think you want to see the company you’ve worked at for three years go under, do you? Or see over one thousand colleagues lose their jobs? Please, plead with your brother-in-law for us, have mercy on us..."
Dio Powell humbled himself on the phone, pleading ceaselessly.
In truth, even if Cosmos Group’s business dealings with Valence Group were severed, it wouldn’t lead to their collapse. After all, it was a company of considerable scale and still possessed substantial strength. It was just that ending the partnership with Valence Group meant losing more than just profits; it meant losing connections too.
Once this news got out, those in the Shopping Mall were all weathercocks. Seeing Valence Group abruptly cut off its partnership with Cosmos Group, they would likely kick them while they were down. With competition so fierce these days, one less company in the running meant more profit for the others.
"I’m sorry, I can’t help you with this," Julia Bluen coldly refused Dio Powell’s plea, hung up once again, and then blocked Cosmos Group’s company number.
Diana Powell knew full well that Nicholas Coldwell was her boyfriend and still deliberately seduced him, snatching him away. Those who steal someone’s love deserve to be punished. The best way to punish Diana Powell is to bankrupt the Powell Family and have Nicholas Coldwell leave her.
