Chapter 1287: Too Lazy
Abbott Wayland stared blankly at Old Mr. Wayland, and when Old Mr. Wayland saw his dumbfounded look, he couldn’t help but laugh: "What’s wrong? Got scared stupid?"
"I just..." Abbott Wayland didn’t even know how to describe his mood, but he still knew there were some things you didn’t need to ask about or figure out.
If it were something he could talk about, Grandpa would definitely tell him.
If Grandpa wasn’t saying anything, that meant he couldn’t say it, and Abbott had no need to know or go digging.
"I ran into Henry Chapman." Abbott Wayland remembered what Henry had said. "He told me Sophie Wilson’s hospital paperwork might... not be so easy to get approved."
Old Mr. Wayland smiled: "The Chapman Family, huh... they’re just too full of themselves. Back then... forget it, let’s not bring up the past."
"Don’t you worry about it one bit, anyone’s paperwork can run into problems, but there is absolutely no way Sophie Wilson’s side will have an issue." Old Mr. Wayland said this, then shook his head, amused. "That little girl still has the same temper. I’m guessing she found out what the Chapman Family did to Charles Seymour, and now she’s venting for her fiancé."
"Venting?" Abbott Wayland’s eyes widened. "Invest in a whole hospital, mobilize that many connections, just to vent for Charles Seymour?"
"Of course. Those two are doing really well together." Old Mr. Wayland said with a smile; whether in the past or now, they’d always been that good.
Old Mr. Wayland glanced at his grandson, who’d been stunned silly by one shocking piece of news after another, and couldn’t hold back a laugh: "You didn’t actually think Sophie Wilson opened a hospital to make money, did you?"
"She..."
"That girl’s lazy as hell, her biggest wish is to be a total freeloader. If it weren’t for that kid Charles Seymour, she’d never be tossing herself around like this." When Old Mr. Wayland mentioned Sophie Wilson, he couldn’t help but show a doting smile, as if the person he was talking about was a pampered little granddaughter at his side.
Old Mr. Wayland’s expression made Abbott Wayland’s heart jolt. He didn’t know what Sophie Wilson had done back then to make his always-strict grandfather show that kind of indulgent affection, but now he was sure of one thing: if the Chapman Family kept going against Sophie Wilson... they were in for trouble.
On the other side, having "successfully" talked Abbott Wayland around, Henry Chapman went home and said to his father, "Dad, that Sophie Wilson is pretty capable, she actually managed to talk Abbott Wayland over."
"Abbott Wayland?" Felix Chapman frowned, let out a cold snort, and said, "Didn’t the Wayland Family say they were fine just tending their own clinic? How would they end up at Sophie Wilson’s hospital?"
Back then they’d tried to invite people from the Wayland Family to do consultations at their hospital and hadn’t succeeded. So what did it mean for Abbott Wayland to go over there now?
"I’d guess Sophie Wilson made too big a splash opening that hospital, so Abbott Wayland went over to have a look." Henry Chapman said proudly, "I’ve already talked Abbott Wayland out of it; he won’t be tricked by Sophie Wilson."
"That’s good then." Only then did Felix Chapman let out a sigh of relief.
Whatever ruckus the Chapman Family was kicking up, Sophie Wilson was completely unaware of it. The rooms at home had already been redecorated, and Old Mr. Seymour, Old Mrs. Seymour, and Bao’er had all been brought over.
Mason Wilson hadn’t gone in to work; he was waiting at Charles Seymour’s place.
Sophie Wilson had no idea what her Mr. Seymour had said to her parents; anyway, her parents had very easily accepted Bao’er.
"They’re here." At the nanny’s call, Mason Wilson and Clarissa Taylor sprang up from the sofa. Clarissa hurried to the door, while Mason stayed where he was, not moving.
