Chapter 1283: So Frustrating
"You’re welcome," Sophie Wilson said with a smile to the security guard, "Goodbye."
"Alright, take care," the security guard waved politely at Sophie Wilson.
With a bag in one hand and a child in the other, Sophie Wilson walked away without saying another word.
It was because she didn’t say much that it highlighted Henry Chapman in contrast.
He had just led the charge to catch the thief, but his subsequent aggressiveness made others a bit uncomfortable.
The people around clearly didn’t say anything, but Henry Chapman could distinctly feel their gazes shifting from admiration to something else, like needles piercing him, making him extremely uncomfortable.
"Luckily, we caught the accomplice."
"Indeed, if those people who caught the thief were to be retaliated against, we wouldn’t know who did it."
"Thank goodness, thank goodness!"
"As expected of my idol, just as handsome as on screen!"
The onlookers discussed as they dispersed, while the hero, Henry Chapman, was left ignored.
With a dark expression, he turned and called out to the departing security guard, asking, "How did she recognize the thief’s accomplice?"
"I’m not sure about that," the security guard shook his head, "It was the lady who advised me to catch those two people."
"She told you to catch them and you just did it, weren’t you afraid of making a mistake?" Henry Chapman thought it was simply nonsense.
"At the time, we were a bit worried, but we didn’t just grab them; we asked them to cooperate with the investigation," the security guard chuckled, "And guess what, when the police asked and checked the surveillance, they really were with that thief."
"Ah, sir, I have something else to do, I’ll be going now," the security guard remembered something, said this, and hurriedly ran off.
Henry Chapman left the mall with a gloomy face, feeling deeply resentful.
In the car, the child sat obediently, big eyes blinking at Sophie Wilson, "Mom, that person is so annoying."
"Is he? Mom finds him annoying too," Sophie Wilson laughed, ruffling the child’s hair, "That person is a relative of your dad’s mom."
"Grandma?" the child thought for a moment and said.
"Yes, grandma," Sophie Wilson nodded, "Both grandpa and grandma are not nice people, you have to run away from them, otherwise, they will bully you."
"Hmm," the child nodded seriously.
"Do you know that person?" the child asked, figuring it out.
"I do," Sophie Wilson nodded with a smile, "I pretended not to because he’s just too annoying, I really don’t want to know him."
"You see, family relationships are not just about blood, but more about feelings," Sophie Wilson’s words left the child confused, looking puzzled.
"That’s okay, you’ll understand as you grow up," Sophie Wilson smiled, kissing the child, "Do you want chocolate or strawberry cake tonight?"
"Both!" the child was, after all, a child, and this topic quickly distracted him.
"You can have a little bit of each, otherwise it’s too much," Sophie Wilson hugged the child, smiling.
Sophie Wilson felt refreshed after dealing with Henry Chapman, but Henry Chapman was so frustrated he could almost spit blood. He drove aimlessly down the road, trying to vent his dissatisfaction.
Suddenly, he looked up, and the slight relief he had just felt turned into increased frustration. How did he end up driving to Sophie Wilson’s hospital?
Such a headache!
