Chapter 1236: Accompanying
Kai Bright waited like this until the evening.
At 6:30 in the evening, Charles Seymour finally came downstairs and sat by the dining table, eating with a calm expression.
Kai Bright didn’t say a word, quietly sitting and eating.
Charles Seymour didn’t order anyone to prepare food for Sophie, and Sophie hadn’t come down, which meant that Sophie hadn’t woken up.
So much time had passed since Charles’ estimated time, Sophie’s condition... No, it can’t be!
Sophie will definitely be fine!
Kai Bright kept telling himself desperately in his heart.
If something had happened to Sophie, Charles Seymour definitely wouldn’t be this calm.
After the meal, the butler sensed that Kai Bright’s mood was a bit down and asked, "Mr. Bright, is something wrong?"
"I’m just feeling that the gap between Charles and me is so wide," Kai Bright said, a bit embarrassed. "I’m still restless, worried that something happened to Sophie. But he’s able to be so certain, I really can’t compare... Sigh..."
After Kai Bright finished speaking, he saw the butler smile slightly and say, "Mr. Bright, my master is not certain; he has long made plans."
Kai Bright looked over with a puzzled expression, and the butler continued smiling as he explained, "If Miss Wilson doesn’t wake up, the master will go accompany her."
Kai Bright’s eyes widened with shock, looking at the butler speaking so lightly in disbelief.
But the butler still smiled peacefully, as if he was completely unaware of the terrifying implications of what he just said.
"Mr. Bright, have some fruit." The butler placed the fruit tray on the coffee table in front of Kai Bright. "If you need anything, just call me."
Kai Bright stared blankly at the butler and then slowly nestled into the sofa.
He was truly impressed by Charles Seymour and the others.
For Charles Seymour to make such a decision, no wonder Sophie loved him to death.
To accompany Sophie... Charles Seymour had prepared for the worst from the very beginning.
If Sophie hadn’t woken up, Charles would have gone with her.
As for the butler, who knew about Charles Seymour’s decision yet remained so calm... Kai Bright covered his eyes with one hand; he finally realized how vast the gap between him and Charles Seymour was.
It’s really not something that can be chased purely with effort; the key is mindset.
——
Sophie Wilson felt like she had a long dream, unable to remember what was in it, but she only felt her body was very heavy, exhausted as if she had been running with a load all day, her whole body aching.
She just wanted to keep sleeping like this, but she couldn’t, because someone was waiting for her.
She fought continuously against the sweet dreamlike state, until, who knows how long it took, she finally managed to open her heavy eyelids.
The world before her eyes was a bit blurred, and she vaguely seemed to see someone sitting by the bed.
Sophie struggled to blink her eyes and finally blinked away the haze, seeing the person who brought warmth to her, and slowly curved her lips into a smile.
The next second, sitting by the bed, Charles Seymour opened his eyes, and tears suddenly flowed down with no sign or warning, bursting into tears.
Sophie Wilson’s heart was shaken greatly, watching this cold man shed tears, each drop seemed to hit her heart, leaving one stinging little pit after another.
Time may have passed for a long time, or maybe just a brief moment, Charles Seymour’s lips twitched stiffly, stretching out his big hand to wipe the tear stains from his face.
