Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate

Chapter 1178: Do You Understand Now?

"Nelson?" Charlotte Reed furrowed her brow, wondering why this name sounded so familiar.

"You can’t say you haven’t heard of the Nelson family, right?" Ethan Seymour explained.

Charlotte Reed gasped, exclaiming, "Nelson? That Nelson?"

"Which else could it be?" Ethan Seymour scoffed, feeling quite bitter inside; why did that little bastard always get the good stuff?

"That Nelson family?" Charlotte Reed felt as if her whole being wasn’t right. Incredulously, she asked, "How could Sophie Wilson know people from the Nelson family?"

"How should I know?" Ethan Seymour rolled his eyes at Charlotte Reed in annoyance; if she asked him, who could he ask?

"Since it’s the Nelson family, it doesn’t matter." Charlotte Reed thought it over and finally realized there was still hope for them.

Her words caused Ethan Seymour to look over in confusion.

He had spent a long time trying to find a solution and couldn’t come up with anything—what idea did she have?

"The Nelsons are a big family. Even if they invested in G Corporation, it can’t be ruled by one person alone. Just get in touch with other people from the family. Sophie’s friend is just one person among the Nelsons, and there are many side branches in the family... Ethan, what’s wrong?"

Charlotte Reed’s confident speech gradually lost all its momentum under Ethan Seymour’s increasingly strange gaze. Why was he looking at her like that?

"What’s wrong?" Ethan Seymour smirked sarcastically, unsure if he was mocking Charlotte Reed or himself, slamming the table hard. "The person Sophie Wilson knows is Luke Nelson!"

Charlotte Reed looked at Ethan Seymour, puzzled. She only knew of the Nelson family, but she really had no idea what their names were.

"The head of the Nelson family! The man in charge! Do you understand now?" With each sentence Ethan Seymour spoke, Charlotte Reed’s face turned a shade paler, until the last word left her completely bloodless, ghastly white.

Charlotte Reed’s lips trembled, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, she couldn’t manage a single sound.

A loud thud made Ethan Seymour quickly look toward the door, only to see James Reed standing in the doorway, his briefcase on the floor.

"James, you’re back," Charlotte Reed snapped back to her senses when she saw her son, smiling as she spoke.

She tried to put on a loving mother’s smile, but unfortunately, what Ethan Seymour had just said shocked her too much, stiffening her facial muscles, leaving her with a rather odd and unattractive expression.

"Dad, did you just say that Sophie Wilson knows the head of the Nelson family?" James Reed asked.

"Yes." Ethan Seymour nodded, only he knew how heavy that nod felt, making his neck stiff.

A slight smile appeared on James Reed’s lips, "I didn’t expect my brother to find such a capable wife. My brother’s truly lucky."

Ethan Seymour’s face darkened at this remark, "Lucky my ass. He’s useless and only knows how to rely on his wife, a freeloader!"

James Reed laughed and advised, "Dad, don’t say that about my brother; he’s just lucky."

"However, Dad, you don’t have to keep looking for opportunities for me. My company’s business is gradually picking up now, so you don’t have to worry about me. I have no desire to return to Seymour Corporation," James Reed said with a smile.
