Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate

Chapter 1157: All for Nothing

"Maybe I really am at odds with the Wilson Clan," Benjamin Walton sneered, "Sophie Wilson, you just want to get the Wilson Clan back, don’t you? What price are you planning to offer?"

Sophie Wilson laughed, put down her chopsticks, and looked at Benjamin as if he were a fool: "President Walton, it seems you’ve got it wrong. You’re the one asking me, not the other way around!"

"Do you think I’d take it if the price is high?" Sophie asked Benjamin with a smile. "I’m in no rush. As long as enough time passes for the Wilson Corporation to declare bankruptcy, it’s even better if I take over then, right?"

"Don’t worry, President Walton, I can wait."

He couldn’t afford to wait!

Benjamin took a deep breath, desperately telling himself not to get angry.

"Fine, what price are you offering?" Benjamin asked.

Sophie boldly gave a number, making Benjamin scoff incredulously, staring at her as he questioned: "Sophie Wilson, are you crazy? What do you think you’re buying? This is Wilson Corporation’s stock!"

"Yes, and this is Wilson Corporation’s stock that is about to go bankrupt due to lack of business," Sophie stated a prerequisite, smiling as she advised, "I don’t mind, President Walton, you can go home and think about it slowly."

"Of course, the price might not be the same in a few days," Sophie kindly reminded, "After all, my money doesn’t just fall from the sky."

Benjamin had a sour expression, staring at Sophie as he asked, "Sophie Wilson, have you got me cornered?"

"Yes," Sophie happily nodded, "I think, besides me, there’s no one in Imperial City who would consider acquiring Wilson Corporation’s stock, right?"

"Of course, you can also choose to drag it out with the idea of mutual destruction."

Benjamin was almost infuriated by Sophie’s suggestion.

He might have wanted to go head-to-head with Sophie, but his family’s patriarch certainly wouldn’t agree, and besides, he didn’t want to drag Walton Family’s company down.

"Alright, I agree," Benjamin nodded, "Let’s make the transaction tomorrow."

"No problem," Sophie readily agreed, stood up, and said, "Then I won’t delay President Walton’s meal any longer, I’m leaving now."

Once the negotiations were over, Sophie had no interest in staying here with Benjamin.

"Sophie Wilson!" Just when Sophie touched the doorknob, Benjamin suddenly spoke, calling out to her.

Sophie turned around and looked over.

Benjamin said, "Now that you’ve got your wish, can you tell me who was helping you behind the scenes?"

After listening, Sophie couldn’t help but roll her eyes: "Why can’t you just believe it was my ability?"

"You?" Benjamin disdainfully looked Sophie up and down, sneering.

Clearly, even now, Benjamin didn’t believe that Sophie had such influence to manipulate the standards of the relevant departments.

"Fine, believe it or don’t," Sophie casually shrugged, as she didn’t see the need to make Benjamin believe her on this.

As long as the company came back, that’s all that mattered.

After Sophie left, Benjamin completely slumped in his chair and didn’t speak for a long time. After a while, he covered his eyes with one hand and let out a piercing laugh.

He had endured for decades, and finally got the Wilson Corporation, only for it to end up like this.

Not only did it not help Walton Family’s company progress, but he even lost a significant amount of money due to this stock acquisition.
