Chapter 1152: Rival in Love
Sophie Wilson finished listening and laughed, "With Miss White’s status, she probably doesn’t find anything fashionable about this place, right?"
Would the White Family, comparable to the Seymour Corporation, consider this kind of ice cream shop fashionable?
If it were a working-class person, she’d believe they would feel this place is high-end.
The heiress of the White Family... probably wouldn’t even deign to look at a place like this, right?
"At that time, we were all students. Naturally, we liked coming to places like this," Chloe White said with a smile. "Back then, the ice cream snowballs here were a big hit with everyone."
"Even Charles, who was usually cool and aloof, would come here to eat," Chloe White said, seemingly offhand, but it set off alarms in Sophie Wilson’s mind. She began to understand why Chloe White had suddenly invited her for a chat.
"So, Miss White..."
"Just call me Chloe, we’re all acquaintances here." Chloe White interrupted Sophie Wilson with such familiarity, yet in a way that wasn’t off-putting.
Sophie nodded and followed her lead, saying, "So, Chloe knows Mr. Seymour from my family."
"Yes, we were at the same school then," Chloe White reminisced with emotion, "although we weren’t in the same grade."
"Our families got along quite well and often interacted," Chloe White sighed lightly with a hint of regret, "but later I went abroad for studies, and he went to a training camp."
"In the blink of an eye, so many years have passed," Chloe White smiled warmly at Sophie Wilson, seemingly very content, "I never imagined when I returned he would already have a fiancée, and such an excellent one at that."
"Thank you." Sophie Wilson nodded, accepting the compliment graciously.
The two chatted casually, and half an hour later, when they parted ways at the store entrance, they seemed like close sisters.
Only, as they turned away from each other, the smiles on their faces simultaneously vanished.
Naturally, Sophie Wilson wasn’t going to storm into the Seymour Corporation over something so trivial. She went about her day as usual. But when Charles Seymour came home that night, during dinner, she directly asked, "Do you know Chloe White?"
"Chloe White?" Charles thought for a moment before answering, "The heiress of the White Corporation."
His tone was so flat, as if discussing a passerby.
That little bit of unease in Sophie Wilson’s heart finally dissipated completely.
"What’s the matter?" Charles was very perceptive of Sophie Wilson’s emotional changes and asked curiously, "Did she cause you trouble?"
Charles’s worried expression made Sophie Wilson burst into laughter, "Not really. We just happened to meet today, so we sat down and chatted."
"Chatted?" Charles was even more puzzled, "Did you know each other before?"
"We didn’t know each other, but you two know each other." Sophie Wilson rested her chin on one hand, playfully scrutinizing Charles, "She’s your junior, don’t you have any impression?"
Charles shook his head straightforwardly, "Isn’t school for studying?"
Pfft...
Sophie Wilson laughed out loud, "Then can I ask if you remember who your classmates were?"
Charles’s bewildered look made Sophie Wilson hold up her hand, stopping him, "Alright, no need to answer, I got it."
My Mr. Seymour is indeed quite cool; it seems my rival didn’t even get a chance before she was already defeated.
And she didn’t even know how it happened.
