Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate

Chapter 1147: Who Would Believe That

If Sophie Wilson believed him, she’d be seeing ghosts!

"Hm, you’re such a sneaky fox!" Sophie Wilson reached out, pinched Charles Seymour’s nose, and teasingly got up.

Charles Seymour didn’t speak, but the deep disappointment almost overflowed from his eyes. Then, his lips felt warm as someone sealed them with a fierce kiss, and instantly, the gloom dispersed, and the sunshine poured in.

Sophie watched as Charles Seymour instantly revived, and couldn’t help but laugh. Mischievously, she reached out, ruffling his black hair: "Good boy."

Afterward, Sophie felt frustrated: "Who’s the one that really needs comfort here?"

Charles Seymour’s already bright eyes brightened a few more degrees, hinting at wanting to volunteer.

Sophie lightly patted his forehead: "I think food still heals my damaged soul best."

Charles Seymour’s eyes dimmed, feeling down, as he got up to go downstairs for food.

His gloomy mood lasted until work the next day. He just couldn’t understand, was his charm less favorable than snacks?

Mason Wilson knocked and came in, seeing Charles Seymour’s unpleasant expression. His heart tightened as he asked, "Is the company’s finances really in trouble?"

The already frustrated Charles Seymour listened to Mason Wilson and looked over in confusion.

Company finances... in trouble?

How come he didn’t know?

Little did he know, his bewilderment was seen as acknowledgment by Mason Wilson.

Mason Wilson sighed softly and spoke heavily: "About Wilson Corporation’s matters, just let it go."

Charles Seymour: "?"

Why couldn’t he keep up with his father-in-law’s thought process?

"Wilson Corporation’s recent business faced quite a few obstacles, did the company spend a lot?" Mason Wilson spoke, thinking there’s no need for Charles to spend money on this.

Thankfully, Charles Seymour’s mind was sharp enough to find patterns in Mason Wilson’s incoherent words.

"Sophie is handling all of that," Charles Seymour explained.

This is only because Mason Wilson was speaking with him like this; if it had been someone else questioning his decisions, they would have been thrown out already.

Upon hearing Charles say this, Mason Wilson smiled with complex emotions, feeling somewhat gratified yet a bit pained: "The money Sophie spends, isn’t part of it sponsored by you?"

"Sophie’s spiritual treasures can’t possibly divert so much funding. Isn’t the remainder covered by your money?" Mason Wilson said with a smile, "I know you care for Sophie and let her spend freely, but... this isn’t very good."

No matter what, Sophie will eventually live with Charles Seymour. In a marriage, neither party should ever take the other’s tolerance and concessions for granted, or else, how can it last?

Charles Seymour certainly understood Mason Wilson’s concerns, and it was precisely because Mason’s intentions came from caring for Sophie that he had the patience to discuss this many things.

Anyone who’s good for Sophie can be considered part of his inner circle.

"As of now, not a single penny has been spent by Sophie." Charles Seymour’s words left Mason Wilson stunned. He looked at him, puzzled, and asked, "No money spent? Then why are those projects collaborating with Wilson Corporation stalled?"

"Because they were unqualified." Charles Seymour spoke lightly.

Mason Wilson: "..."

Did this guy, Charles Seymour, think he was an idiot?

Who the hell would believe such nonsense?

Charles Seymour looked at Mason Wilson’s rather colorful expression and asked, "Did you really think we were bribing?"
