Chapter 50: What Intentions
If she hadn’t known about Lucy Wells’ later experiences, she wouldn’t have been able to stop this tragedy from happening in this lifetime.
Lucy Wells bit her lip, raised her head, her eyes red again, "Thank you, Sophie."
If it hadn’t been for Sophie Wilson, she’d really have continued down that path.
Even being with Joshua Wright always made her uncomfortable, but to leave her grandma’s house quickly, to prevent her mom from being bullied by her uncle and aunt, she truly would have married Joshua Wright.
Luckily, Sophie Wilson woke her up, freeing her from that ridiculous fantasy.
"What are you thanking me for? It’s mainly because you were willing to step out." Sophie Wilson said with a smile, picking up a custard bun for Lucy Wells, "Have some sweets, it’ll lift your mood."
"Okay." Lucy Wells took a bite, and the smooth sweetness slid down her throat, reaching her heart, overshadowing the bitterness of many days and making her feel much better.
After lunch, Sophie Wilson took Lucy Wells home.
