"Sophie, thanks to your boyfriend for tonight’s treat. Thirty-nine per person buffet... hmmm, not bad." Eva’s unreserved sarcasm was quite uncomfortable.
"If you didn’t like it, why did you come?" A colleague directly retorted.
"Maybe she just bought a car and needs to cut back on expenses." Sophie grinned as she "explained" to the colleague who stood up for her, "Otherwise, why would she brazenly come to eat a meal she looks down on."
This remark made several colleagues around laugh out loud, looking at Eva with some unusual expressions.
"Eva, your boyfriend is so rich, why doesn’t he treat us to a meal?"
