Chapter 43: What is Your Position
Old Mr. Gordon’s face was gloomy: "Where in SJ City is spotless? Has your Gardiner Family been clean through the generations?"
"Compared to you, we are surely much cleaner. You know full well that someone has been watching your family for a long time. Florence’s actions are merely fueling the fire. Moreover, my granddaughter-in-law is renowned for her good nature. You can go ask around at the Quinn and White Families and see who doesn’t praise her. When a rabbit is cornered, it bites. Isn’t it someone from your family who forced her to this point?"
Old Mr. Gardiner spoke clearly.
"Mr. Gordon." Luke Gardiner’s voice came from afar: "You should quickly take your family to the authorities and confess everything honestly. Maybe then you’ll get a lighter sentence."
Usually seen as a carefree playboy, when serious, he now seemed quite intimidating. Old Mr. Gordon looked at him: "This is your family’s mess."
"Who asked your granddaughter to provoke my wife?" Luke looked at him sharply. "Perhaps I won’t mind adding fuel to the fire by submitting some evidence to the National Investigation Bureau."
"You... you people..." Old Mr. Gordon’s hand trembled with anger: "Your Gardiner Family bullies too much."
"The ones who bully too much are your Gordon Family. This drop has caused quite a splash. Go check online and see how much trouble about your family has surfaced." Luke said coldly.
Old Mr. Gardiner waved his hand: "See the guest out." He looked at Old Mr. Gordon: "Whether it’s a blessing or a curse, it all depends on your family’s fate."
Old Mr. Gordon left, his face flushed with anger.
