"I see," Ryker replied, voice quieter now but still incredibly firm.
"I just called to ask if Luna was alright," she said, trying to sound professional again. "She didn’t come today, so I was a little worried..."
On the other end, the Alpha’s voice changed—softer now, almost fond. "Ah. My little pup is fine," he said. "She didn’t want to come today because... my wounds have finally healed. She said she wanted to spend the whole day at home with me."
