Chapter 87 Planting
As Alina sipped the last of her drink, still holding onto the warmth in her palms, she looked up at Gabriel with a curious smile.
"By the way... you’re so early today?" she asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Gabriel chuckled softly, brushing a strand of golden hair behind his ear. "Yeah. Do you remember the suggestion you made in the office? About giving the kids a hands-on planting activity?"
Alina blinked. "Oh! Yeah — the gardening idea."
"I’m trying to execute it," he said with a small, proud smile. "We brought in little flower plants for all the babies to take care of. And guess what? They loved the idea. It’s been approved by the board... and by the kids." He gave her a soft look. "Would you like to meet them? They’re already outside."
Alina’s eyes lit up. "Meet more babies? Gabriel, I would never say no to cuteness."
He laughed, flashing her a genuinely pretty smile that made her heartbeat flip just a little.
"Elder Elona helped me gather them together in the garden," he said as they started walking side by side down the hallway. "She’s using her wind magic to clean the leaves while they dig around."
"Elder Elona?" Alina said, amused. "The one who floats while cleaning?"
"The one and only," he smiled.
They stepped out into the back garden of the academy, and Alina’s footsteps slowed.
Her eyes widened, and her jaw nearly dropped.
