Ravena arched a brow, folding her arms. "Yeah, yeah. I know what you’re doing."

Luna tilted her head and offered her mother the sweetest smile. "What do you mean?"

"Oh, please," Ravena snorted. "You’re trying to escape. But however disinterested you are in the details, I am still going to make sure you have an amazing wedding. You’ll thank me when the photos come out."

"I’m sure I will," Luna chuckled, slipping her hand into Damien’s arm.

They stepped out into the moonlit street. The castle loomed ahead in the distance. The lamps lining the road cast a soft golden glow, and the quiet night air wrapped around them, finally giving them a moment alone.

"Thank you for this. For bringing my mum," she said.

"She is the best wedding planner I know," he said.

Luna raised a perfectly sculpted brow, giving him that patented ’really?’ look. "You realize she’s going to hire about four professional wedding planners, right?"

Damien’s lips tugged into a grin. "Just four?" he chuckled, slipping his arms around her waist, pulling her close.

Their bodies fit perfectly together. She rested her head briefly on his shoulder, breathing him in. He didn’t have a heartbeat like hers, but she felt him in other ways—in the way his chest rose when he held her, in the way his thumb traced small circles against her hip.
