Chapter 86: Making a Move
Julia thought Jessie’s words made a lot of sense. She knew someone in a similar situation and felt even more confident in her choice. However, she had tried many ways, and Kevin’s reaction so far was like a stone, completely unmoved.
"Jessie, do you have any ideas? Have you ever pursued someone before?"
Jessie was a bit stumped by her question, having never really pursued anyone before. To put it another way, she rarely thought about matters of the heart. However...
"I haven’t, but I think relationships boil down to two things: love at first sight or growing affections over time. If President Harper can’t fall in love with you at first sight, then maybe you should make your presence more visible in front of him instead—that way, there will be more opportunities for you guys to interact. Don’t men usually love being busy with work? You could approach him under the guise of work; he won’t have a good reason to reject you then, right?"
She believed that people needed to spend time together to develop feelings. So-called love at first sight usually boils down to attraction at first sight.
Julia thought that was a good idea and gratefully said, "Thank you so much, Jessie. If I manage to win President Harper over, I’ll bring you a great gift to show my gratitude."
"Then I wish Miss Rossi the best of luck."
Julia nodded and clenched her fist. "I’ll do my best! I refuse to believe I can’t win him over!"
Jessie laughed at her determination. "Miss Rossi, I think you’re different from the rumors. They all say you’re hard to get along with—a spoiled and willful young lady. But after spending time with you today, you don’t seem that way to me. If you were really as they say, maybe you would need to change your personality a bit to catch President Harper’s attention?"
Hearing this, Julia reflected on her own behavior.
Seemingly, Jessie had not said anything wrong. Growing up constantly doted on, she always got whatever she wanted. Her personality was indeed a bit spoiled, and she never hesitated to deny others’ faces when she saw something she didn’t like.
She sincerely reflected on herself. "Jessie, if you hadn’t told me these things today, I might never have realized my problems."
