Chapter 63: Miss Rossi
He was Jessie’s genuine husband. Even Chris received cakes from her, so why didn’t he get any?
Even if they were trying new products, shouldn’t he be the first to try them as her rightful husband?
He couldn’t bring himself to ask Jessie for fear it might hurt his pride, but he was indeed upset.
He felt like she didn’t care about him at all!
At this moment, Jessie was still busy in the shop. Some of the new customers were ones who came under Chris’s recommendation. She was quite grateful to Chris for bringing in a good amount of business.
Lilian arrived at the shop and saw Jessie finally taking a break after being busy for a while. She sipped her coffee and remarked, “Jessie, your shop’s business has been booming lately. Is it because those netizens are feeling guilty for slandering you online, so now they’re coming to support your business?”
Jessie shook her head. “How’s that possible? All these customers were brought in by my brother-in-law. Last time, he mentioned that my cakes were delicious and his friends asked him about it, so many have come to buy from me.”
“Are your brother-in-law’s friends all uncles and aunties?” Lilian frowned, noticing that there weren’t any young people around; only elders.
This wasn’t Chris’s fault. Most of his friends came from wealthy families, and they wouldn’t typically shop for such items themselves. Thus, they would instead have their household staff buy them.
Jessie scratched her head, acknowledging her lack of knowledge on the matter.
“Maybe it’s their parents. Anyway, why are you free enough to visit me every day lately?”
Lilian laid her head on the table and explained, “My boss heard about what you went through online and was worried about you, so he permitted me to take paid leave for a few days to give you some company!”
