Chapter 7: Getting Along
Jessie understood that although Kevin was scolding her, he was actually worried about her safety.
She nodded in agreement.
Even if he didn’t say it, she wouldn’t go out drinking again.
She was aware enough of her own safety.
Seeing her agreeing, his expression softened a bit.
He didn’t forget to remind her, "By the way, the living room is a public area. Don’t sleep here next time."
"Alright." The memory of him carrying her to bed in his arms last night flashed in her mind.
She suddenly understood something new about her husband; he was an upright person.
Otherwise, given last night’s situation, things would have escalated, and they would have had sex as a new couple is supposed to do.
Kevin was unaware of her thoughts, but he did notice she had organized her stuff in the guest room. He was satisfied with her decision to sleep separately in two rooms.
After all, he didn’t want to fulfill any husbandly duties.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked after finishing breakfast, noticing Jessie staring into space.
