Surrender To Us, Our Luna (One Luna, Four Alphas)

Chapter 582-The Unfortunate Pack

Haiden:

At that moment, my uncle left the house in anger. But when I was alone, everything started coming back to me.

Every corner of the house echoed with memories of how happy we once were here. That was before that beast had set his eyes on my mother.

Everything used to be so beautiful. My mother loved me and my sister deeply.

As soon as I thought of that, my eyes filled with tears.

From the kitchen to the dining room, then up to the second floor, every place only reminded me of her.

Finally, exhausted, I returned to my room. I decided to check on Fauna and her mother first. I needed to know how they were.

When I entered the room, I saw that Fauna had settled her mother in a separate room.

She would never leave her with her father again.

That woman could not live with that cruel man. No one could.

"How is your mother?" I asked, watching her adjust the blanket over her.

Fauna’s eyes were filled with tears. She sniffled softly, trying to appear strong.

"He is a monster," she whispered before covering her face and breaking down.

I immediately pulled her closer and hugged her.

"You know who fights monsters, don’t you?" I asked in a soft, teasing tone.

She lowered her hands and looked at me, her eyes still heavy with tears.

"I have challenged your father to a fight."

As soon as I said that, her lips parted in shock.

"Tell me if you do not want it," I added, trying to understand if it would be too much for her.

"If you are not ready, I will find another way to take my pack back from him."

But she immediately shook her head.

"No. That is the right thing."

I smiled at her. I had expected that from her.

I would not have judged her if she had said otherwise, but I wanted her to choose it herself.

Everyone knew he could not stand against me.

And I would make sure to end him in front of everyone, the right way.

"You know, ever since we left, he has been beating my mother without mercy," she whispered, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.

"I know," I replied.

"But why does he do that?" She had big tears in her eyes.

"Why is he so power-hungry that he cannot even see his own family suffering?" she asked, her eyes searching mine.

I gently lifted her chin.

"Evil people do not always need a reason. They are just evil," I said.

Then I wrapped my arm around her waist and led her outside the room.

The way she had locked the room, I knew she did not want her father coming in to threaten her mother while we were away.

But we were not going anywhere.

We had already taken the room for ourselves. If her father tried to come in, we would know.

We sat on my bed, though I noticed Fauna was a little hesitant.

"What happened?" I asked, gesturing for her to sit again when she stood up.

"It just feels strange to sit on your bed with you," she replied shyly.

I smiled at her innocence. It reminded me how long she had loved me, and how much this moment meant to her.

"Come here," I said, holding my hand out.

I took her hand and gently pulled her closer, making her sit beside me.

"I am all yours now, babe," I said as we sat together.

I lowered my head and gently brushed my lips against her cheek.

I felt her body jolt.

Every touch from me felt like something precious to her, and I knew that from the way her heart skipped a beat or how she reacted to my touch.

I could sense it all.

So I kept her close, making sure I felt every small movement of her body.

"When will the fight be?" she asked softly.

"Next week. I will speak with Ian and the others and let them know," I replied, holding her hand and rubbing it gently between mine.

"I hope my father will not play dirty," she murmured.

As soon as she said that, I frowned in confusion.

She took a deep breath.

"You know my father, Haiden. If he accepted the challenge so easily, it means something is wrong. Otherwise, he would never give up his power like that," she said, folding one leg under her while the other hung off the bed as she faced me.

"My father knows he cannot win against you. That is what worries me. Why would he accept it then?" her voice hinted at something terrible coming our way.

"Maybe because, like he said, this is his last option to keep the pack," I suggested, shrugging slightly.

"No, Haiden. My father is a scared man. He would never accept something like this," she insisted.

"He would never allow anyone to beat him. So for him to agree now, I am afraid of what he is planning."

The way she put it made me pause.

I began to wonder if she was right. If he was planning something.

"Then we will keep an eye on him," I said, trying to reassure her.

But deep down, I knew that with so many eyes on him, he would not be able to do anything reckless during the fight.

As we sat together, talking about everything, a loud bang came from outside.

We exchanged a glance and rushed to our feet, trying to see what had happened.

Once outside, we understood the problem.

"She is my wife. Open the fucking door," her father yelled, standing at the doorway and pointing toward Lady Hilda’s room.

Fauna had been right. Her father was not the kind of man who would give up so easily.

I stepped forward and faced him, watching him with a calm, challenging look.

"You are not allowed to come here and cause a scene," I warned in a soft, controlled tone.

He looked at me, anger flashing across his face.

It was the kind of anger that came from not understanding why he had to listen to someone he considered beneath him.

"Listen, kid. I suggest you stay away until the fight, because you are getting on my last nerves," he said calmly.

I studied his face for a moment, then chuckled and shook my head.

"You are funny. A funny old man," I remarked.

"It is not your decision to walk into her room whenever you want. She is a woman you have abused. You have no right to demand to see her." I stretched my neck.

"Now leave, before I lose my temper," I added, my eyes narrowing at him.

He kept staring at me, as if he could tear me apart.

Then his gaze shifted to Fauna.

I immediately stepped in front of her, blocking his view.

He gave a small nod, as if taking note of everything, before finally turning and leaving.

When he left, I turned to look at Fauna.

I immediately noticed that the same fear had returned to her eyes.

The fear of what her father might be planning.

"That man is not allowed to enter here again," I told one of my warriors, instructing him not to let my uncle go near Lady Hilda’s room.

The warrior nodded.

Then I stepped away, holding Fauna’s hand and leading her with me.

"I am scared," she whispered.

"You do not have to be. I am telling you, everything will be fine. He is all talk," I reassured her as we walked back into the room.

Once we sat on the bed again, I checked my phone.

I had a message from Troy. He had reached home.

So I decided to call him.

"So, what is up?" I asked as soon as he answered.

No greeting. No formalities.

I guess that made it clear I was anxious.

"We have decided to take a little rest at the nearest motel. I do not want to see my father right now," he said.

There was sadness in his tone.

"Well, I have challenged my uncle to a fight," I told him.

I heard him gasp.

"Well, I guess you are at least one step ahead of me," he admitted.

I chuckled and nodded.

"I want you to come watch the fight," I added.

I knew many alphas would be there, but since everyone was dealing with their own issues, I was not sure who would actually make it.

But thankfully, he agreed.

"Of course I will come. I am not going to let my friend fight and get beaten up without me," he said.

I grunted, and then we both laughed.

It was decided with Troy that he would come. I knew Ian and Clementine would be on board as well.

Still, there was a lingering emptiness. None of us said it out loud, but we all wished Yorick were here.

We did not know how he was handling the creatures or if he was even able to. It was not easy.

After I hung up, I told Fauna that we would sit and eat in the dining room. We were not afraid of my uncle anymore. This place was ours now.
