The next second, before he could react, he was unceremoniously thrown out of the room, away from the heated atmosphere inside.
Sir Emhart, in the form of a square book, spun several turns in the corridor before gazing blankly at the ceiling, until the distinct sound of wooden sleeping furniture emerged from inside, causing him to sit up dumbly from the ground. He cursed softly in the direction of the room,
"Fisher! You beastly human! I cover for you with my lies, and this is how you repay me! Just wait, I’ll tell every lady you meet about your wickedness! Whether they be demi-human or human! You’ll see!"
Sir Emhart stared furiously at the closed door, pausing for a second or two. Just as he thought to float up and find a quiet spot, he abruptly turned his head to see a blushing Grey Bird Species Second Officer Ossie crouching outside the corridor, hiding half her face beneath her wings.
She had been sent to inform the Iceberg Queen to leave the nearby waters to avoid conflict with Mia and had just returned, intending to tell Alagina this information when she overheard Fisher’s conversation.
Initially, everything sounded quite normal, especially the part where Fisher conveyed his inner thoughts to the Captain, which made Ossie quite grateful.
It wasn’t until inappropriate sounds of contact filtered through that the innocent Ossie belatedly realized something else must be happening inside.
