Chapter 360 - 147. Demon God Pillar
In the moment after Erwin had finished speaking, Fisher faintly sensed a massive change in the water streams around him. He frowned and looked at the ground, only to discover that vines covered in green leaves were spreading across the floor, and from the cracks created during the recent battle, the entire Treasury’s space was being silently occupied by those terrifying vines.
However, those weren’t real trees. If one observed closely, they would see that those twisted, withered branches were full of eyes, like cherries.
The very instant those eyes appeared, the water on the ground began to turn extremely viscous. Suddenly, the Treasury Hall behind him collapsed, and as Fisher turned his head, he saw the crystal-cast Mother Goddess Statue, which for some unknown reason had become animated.
The Mother Goddess’s head fell off, from which sprouted numerous distorted arms, propelling it forward inexorably.
In that instant, the entire Treasury seemed to come alive. Fisher extended his Fluid Sword tentatively and struck the branches, but the moment they broke, they regrew more flesh-and-blood branches, as if there was an endless supply.
"What surprises me is why Mr. Fisher didn’t read the knowledge in the Soul Completion Manual after acquiring it? During your battle with Blake, you didn’t use any knowledge about the soul to aid you. Had you read that knowledge, perhaps you could still be fighting now..."
"Read it and become a madman like you?"
Fisher clutched his abdomen, watching as the surrounding vegetation grew relentlessly yet intelligently avoided the fallen Moli. He finally let out a sigh of relief and focused all his efforts on the enemy before him.
The surrounding plants couldn’t be killed; he could only try to kill Erwin’s main body.
With a sudden twist of his Fluid Sword, numerous vine-like arms continuously grew from beneath the Treasury’s floor, wrapping tightly around Fisher’s body. As soon as these branch-like appendages reached him, they began draining the blood from his body like Bone-attaching Maggots.
The numerous branches pulled Fisher down like a vortex made of flesh, and the floor of the Treasury whirled like a vortex. Gritting his teeth, he looked down only to see incomplete bodies beckoning him, like a paradise of Hell.
In that moment, the entire underground seemed to have become part of Erwin’s body, and as more blood was drawn, Fisher’s complexion grew paler and paler.
